The Sun Never Sets
Intelligentsia, The Sun Never Sets LP Release, August 24, 2017
The Sun Never Sets was a public art and recording project commissioned by Chicago-based Intelligentsia Coffee. Initially approached to produce building-sized artwork for Intelligentsia’s Wicker Park location, we also used the opportunity to produce a new collection of music, a melodic time-lapsed compression to accompany the static abstraction created for the building. The LP is side-long slippery affair that mixes improvisation, airy guitar chimes, and sun-shaped mantras going in and out of phase. Drawn into the shop by the large artwork were rewarded with the chance to purchase the limited edition LP. We celebrated the release of the LP with a special performance on-site, creating a audio/visual listening party.
